Joe will find out how much coverings may be needed for the
covered bridge

Al from Lions Club estimates a total of 65
gallons of exterior stain will be needed for cedar boards used on siding

Craig will complete paperwork for Valspar grant (due at
start of March)

Grants: Fishing Pier
|
DNR is offering grants for fishing piers. Counties, towns
and townships are eligible. Stearns County is adding a new county park on (Two
Rivers?) Lake.

interest.

Grants: Teen Driver Safety
Deadline is May 16th
|
State Farm is offering grants of up to $2,000 to address
issues on teen driver safety.

Craig will contact Pat Vandrovec at High School to find
out if there is any interest.

Grants: News Ventures
Deadline is Feb 20th
|
Grants of up to $12,000 are available for “innovative
community news ventures”. Funding available for all types of media. Non
profit and civic groups are eligible to apply. Follow up grant of $5,000
available in second year.

Mike: Can this be used for existing city web site, or for
Historical Society?

Skateboard Park
|
St Rosa Lumber checked into purchase of SkateLite
coverings. Would need to be in quantity to receive any type of discount. Nadine mentioned there is a recent article
in the Times regarding St Cloud skate park, and that Melrose is planning to
build a park.

Ernie will find out how much needs to be
ordered to receive a discount.

Craig will check with Foundation to see what
other areas are interested in skate parks. Based on quantities, there may be
enough interest to purchase cooperatively

|

(Ask Mike if this is a new project): 4 senior
students from (St Cloud State?) will work on a Tourism/Business Plan as a
project for Holdingford
·
Grocery store: potential contact Mason Grocers
in Wadena

Garden Club
|
·
Designing welcome packets. Will include;
school newsletter, coupons and local business information, information on
churches, etc. Make available to citizens of Holdingford and Holding, Crane
and Brockway Townships.

May make available to current citizens who are
willing to pay for cost of materials
·
Stearns Count Park (Board?) will donate trees
for along Lake Wobegone trail (by Meiers farm) if land has been herbicide
free long enough

Check with Jon Halverson to see if he will
donate materials if we pay for labor on benches and holding pond for statue.

week of May)

likely starting point for Caramel Roll ride if bridge completed by June
