reports
Main points on discussion of grocery store:
·
Some details of a previous study were shared:
o Would
serve population of 1800, building would require 7000 square feet,
o Store
would lose $36k in first year, $26k in second, $19 k in third
·
Building was felt to be the main need, previous
stores were in old building in poor shape
·
County Road 9 was felt to be ideal location
o Main
Street is too small, parking is too limited
o County
Road 17 has limited space for expansion as a commercial zone
·
Meat counter was felt to be a necessity to draw
customers
·
Previous study, Mason Brothers, and Teal (wanted
to build a Super Valu in Avon) all indicated Holdingford would/could support a
grocery store
·
Suggestion to check on Schweiters as a potential
grocer
